Social entrepreneur and founder/CEO of G1st International Foundation and The Sapio Club, Lagos State, Nigeria, Ambassador Sonnia Agu has proven to be a source of inspiration for women in Africa.
The new Ecowas Youth Ambassador who just returned from Egypt for the World Youth Forum programme for which she was chosen from Nigeria by the Egyptian president to represent her country, is, however, set to take African women whom she is now representing to the next level.
“According to the organizers, ”the award, which is a move to encourage young West- Africans who are doing well in their respective works to do more, has before now given to other Nigerians like Kingsley Moghalu, the political economist who was the presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in the 2019 presidential election; Mrs. Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu, the special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Justice Reforms, and many other Nigerians who are doing well in their respective fields.”
Furthermore, Ambassador Sonia was recognized and given the ambassadorship based on her recognition of her unsurpassed administrative leadership performance, great efforts for students and youth empowerment and developing young female leaders and entrepreneurs.
Speaking on the honour, Agu stated that this will make her do more in what she is well known for.
“ What can I say than to double up and do more, because now a lot will be expected from me and I need to live up to expectations,” she said.
