The events unfolding within the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun state, subsequent to the unfortunate and untimely passing of our dear late leader, Senator Prince Buruji Kashamu (may Allah rest his soul) who worked tirelessly and ceaselessly, to his last breathe, to build an all-inclusive party structure to be proud of in Ogun State.
It is a well-established fact that our dear late leader, Senator Buruji Kashamu, was not averse to a genuine and fair reconciliation of the PDP in Ogun state, before his demise. As a matter of fact, he used every opportunity he had with the media to call for unity, harmony and the strengthening of the bonds between all members of the PDP in Ogun State as one Party.
There is power in unity, and the process to reconcile all aggrieved members and sections in the Ogun PDP is underway and very much in progress, and this process is a moving train that cannot be stopped.
In a democracy, the people are empowered to choose their leaders and the leaders are chosen through transparently democratic processes. Leaders are never foisted or imposed unto the citizenry by coercion, strong-arming or intimidation.
For anyone to make any uncorroborated, unsubstantiated and unconfirmed statements claiming a transfer of authority, control or leadership to him or her, from the late leader, amounts to nothing but a fallacy and a delusion of grandeur that will not stand the test of time, never mind the Law.
Let it be known that any meeting(s) or assemblage purportedly called by the so-called uninaugurated ‘Apex leader’ is against the law of natural justice, equity and good conscience in a Party where there is a legally-constituted state executive organ.
For the avoidance of doubt, the only legally-recognized executive organ of the Ogun State chapter of the PDP is the one ably headed by the State chairman, Mr. Kayode Samson Bamgbose.
Therefore, any agreement or agreements entered into purportedly for or on behalf of the Ogun PDP is null and void and of no effect or consequence whatsoever.
