At what point did you relocate abroad?

I did my primary school in Nigeria and secondary school in the United Kingdom before I moved to New York between 2016 and 2017 for my university education.

Did you study music in school?

I did. I went to school to study music and performing arts. So, I perform and people call me for shows in America as well.

Would you speak about your relationship experience?

Laughs… I have no relationship experience. I say hi and I get hi back (laughter) nothing deeper. My music career is my focus for now. I want to focus and make sure that I make an impactful difference.

Have you had any albums yet?

I have about four projects. This one is in the middle. I have another project coming up next year. My visual EP, ‘Amerikana’, which was developed during the Covid-19 has hit collections like ‘Everyday’, ‘Ego’, ‘Juru’ and ‘Gbera’.

Tell us about your family background.

I’m Nigerian-American to the core. I grew up in Lagos. In my family, we celebrate American holidays and we eat lots of American foods as well as Nigerian foods. My upbringing is very tailored to that. My mum has always made it a point to integrate me into Nigerian society and culture.

Are you the only one that sings in the family?

No. My younger brother is a creative artiste as well. My dad likes to sing too.

What’s the whole idea behind your Who’s That Girl’ Lagos Tour?

‘Who’s That Girl’ Lagos Tour 2024 came about basically to reconnect with my Nigerian roots and share my passion with old and new fans. It’s a showcase of talents and creativity that kicks off today (Wednesday 27th of March 2024) and rounds up in April.

What threat do Nigerian based artistes who visit for shows pose to your space in the States?

They are not a threat. There’s space for everybody. We don’t have to compete. I don’t think they pose any threat.

Who among the big names in the Nigerian music industry have you featured with?

I have collaborated with a lot of people. I haven’t collaborated with some of the bigger names. But there’s always an opportunity. We’re looking up to that.
