A PDP presidential candidate and governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has declared on Thursday, April 21, in Jalingo, Taraba State’s capital, that any administration that cannot protect its residents’ lives and property does not deserve to be in power. Wike made the remarks; while in the state to rally support from delegates and party loyalists.
If he had been president, Wike claimed he would have resigned. This is because he was dissatisfied with the way the All Progressives Congress (APC); led by President Muhammadu Buhari, is handling the country’s security concerns.
According to him, “I would have resigned if I were President Buhari. I would have addressed Nigerians and told them that I have tried my best; but my best is not good enough, therefore, I am resigning.”
Wike, who was of the view that “there is no part of Nigeria that is safe today”, observed that; “even Katsina, the President’s state, is one of the most affected.”
