The sacked council chairmen of local government and local council development areas, LCDAs, have said that they would resume in their various council secretariats tomorrow (Monday).
This, according to Abass Alesinloye, who is their chairman, is following the order by the attorney general of the federation, Abubakar Malami, who wrote Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State last week.
However, the Oyo State Government, has said that it would not allow any group of persons to throw the state into crisis as a result of the ongoing debate on the management of local governments in the state.
The state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, through his media spokesman, said in a statement that it was insisting on the full observance of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) in relation to the ongoing controversy surrounding the dissolution of the 68 illegal local council chairmen in the State.
The state warned ”some individuals who have been threatening to derail the peace of the state to desist from such ruinous path or face the full wrath of the law.”
