It was a night to remember for guests at Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island for this year’s Intercontinental Distillers Distributor’s Awards ceremony. The event, which kicked off on Thursday with dinner/cocktail and entertainment, came to a climax on Friday, November 8, 2024, with a special appearance by Nollywood star actor, Yomi Fash-Lanso and the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Abdul-Kabir Adewale Shotobi, who added spices and glamour to the freezy gathering.
The peak of the two-day events, however, was the unveiling of the new brand of Intercontinental Distillers Limited Commodore Original Aromatic Schnapps.
Speaking after the unveiling of the new product, the managing director of Intercontinental Distillers Limited, Chief Engr. Patrick Anegbe, stated that it wasn’t an easy task running the company especially with the economic situation of the country.
“We faced a series of challenges with the rising cost of diesel and petrol not mentioning the increase of tariff from the electricity company and government’s increased tax. Though 2023 was remarkable, we will continue to invest in what we believe in. Our new product is more than water, it’s blended traditionally with innovation and the purple colour design in the bottle represents loyalty.”
While endorsing the new product, Oba Shotobi said it is a testimony of the culture blended with tradition which the company has been preaching since its inception.
“As a traditional ruler, I can vouch for this product that it’s of high tradition blend with culture. They have not once disappointed the tradition and culture of not only Yorubas but also the traditions of other Nigerian tribes.”
Fash -Lanso also gave the product a pass mark. He said, “People should know that I don’t just attend anyhow event or endorsing just any product but ones of high standard. So for me to have spared my time coming here to endorse this product, definitely it’s a drink that’s good to go for any occasion. It’s a drink that blends tradition with culture.”
