The ancient city of Isheri Olofin in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State came to a standstill on Sunday, 20th, 2025 as His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba (Dr.) Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal-Bello held his coronation and three months on the throne.
The 2 in 1 event took place at the Community Primary School Ground, Isheri Olofin, Lagos.
His royal majesty was crowned on Wednesday,11th December, 2024 as the youngest monarch in Lagos State and indeed Isheri Olofin kingdom. He became the 5th monarch of the ancient Awori Town after succeeding the late Oba Wahab Ayinde Balogun who died 8th February, 2022 at the ripe age of 94.
However, the two day event kicked off Tuesday that proceeded the ceremony tagged family Day, where all the families came together to celebrate HRM, Oba Olasunkanmi Lawal-Bello.
The atmosphere was filled with color and energy as everyone adore their favourite attire and arrived with friends.
Moreover, the Thursday that preceeded the ceremony was Isese day, it was marked by vibrant celebrations and rituals. The ‘Alawo’ gathered to honour their gods, offering prayers for the new monarch and the community, seeking blessing of prosperity, joy and good tidings.
Consequently, the main event commenced with the presentation of honorary chieftaincy awards, recognizing outstanding individuals, notably Day Israel, APC National Youth Leader, as he was conferred with the title of Asiwaju Odo of the Isheri kingdom. The ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries, including youth leaders from other communities and chief from the palace.
Moreso, the event which kicked off properly at the venue was a funfare, as it witnessed cultural dancers by egun, boxing bout by both male and female boxers of the ancient kingdom.
Speeches were made by dignitaries, official & special guests as brief history of Isheri Olofin kingdom was offered.
There were different lots of food to eat and different kind of expensive drink to entertain guests.
The superlative event was anchored by Prince Oladega Ibrahim, Abdul Gafar, and Mc Burga, while K1 the ultimate entertained the guests with his melodious fuji rhythms.
In attendance at the memorable event are: Hon. Kayode Roberts, commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs & Rural Development, Hon. Kunle Olowoopejo, Executive Chairman, Egbe Idimu, LCDA, Alakesan (Hrm Oba (Dr) Nojeemdeen Aberejo), Onikotun (HRM Oba Gbadabiu Azeez Ashiwaju) Onimeran ,( HRM Oba Samuel Oroja).
Others included Araromi Ibeju lekki, ( HRM Oba Lukman Adebambo), Oba Odiolowo Oniwaya Onishasha, Oba Noforiji Epe, Oba Lepia, Oba Araromi Elerangbe,(HRM Oba Prof) Abudulhameed Adejoro, Elegbeda( Oba HAMEED ORELOPE), Oba Ilashe, Oba egbe, Awise of Onigbongbo, ( HRM Oba Olusegun Ajasa ), Olu orile-Ilawo Abeokuta (HRM Oba(Prof) Alexandar McGregor, Olota of ota ( HRM Oba(Prof) Adeyemi Lanlege), Onigboko( Oba Yusuf Oladeinde, Oba Engr Akeem Olodan of Odan Abuja, Olu of Makoji kingdom.
