An old tweet about the Lekki 2020 protests made by seasoned actress, Omotola Jalade, have earned her knocks from Nigerians online after it was dug out on social media. The Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses and other matters on Monday disclosed that not less than eleven #EndSARS protesters were killed at the Lekki tollgate on October 20, 2020.
The panel revealed this in the report submitted to the Lagos State Government on Monday.
This is slightly contrary to the viral old tweets of the veteran actress and mother of four, who urged families of the people who died at the Lekki Tollgate shootings, ‘if there were any’ to come out and speak.
Omotola Jalade, also in the tweet, admonished young people to stop with sensationalizing the killings; as it doesn’t remove the crime and would further more instigate chaos.
The 43-year-old actress during the Lekki Massacre trends wrote; ‘If people died during the Lekki Toll gate Assault, let their people speak out please and if there were no deaths then enough with the sensationalization because it does not remove from the Crime that happened. peaceful Protesters were attacked. Why? By Whom?’
