Integrity refers to a firm adherence to a high moral code. It further entails the quality of an individual being strongly attached to exhibiting the highest standards of honesty, dedication, thoroughness and fairness.
This is just one of the many reasons why it is an admirable core value on anyone as it means they are not afraid to show who they are through the display of their unrepentant and patriotic appetite for making the society better through good use of their resources, time, intellect, connections, influence, goodwill etc. That is what the Director-General of Sanwo-Olu Ambassadors (a group that outstandingly canvassed for Sanwo-Olu’s reelection) Alhaja Tai Elemesho-Okesanjo stands for.

Alhaja Elemesho’s dogged appearances at the recent February 25 and March 18, 2023 elections for the APC candidates especially for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PresidentIan poll) and Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu (guber poll) exemplified her essence as a true patriot and goal getter.
She was determined to add her voice to the local, state and national political conversations, precisely on how best the citizenry could possibly create a new Nigeria where everyone can all live together in peace, harmony and prosperity and also where the enabling environment could deepen socio-economic development.
For all those who had close encounters with this moral and integrity icon, the memory will keep coming back to appreciate a good natured woman, humble and affable. Her mien belied her fame, simple yet firm and had respect for every individual. She is a role model and that is her very important legacy as a national figure who craved transparency, commitment to duty and all the essentials of decency in both private and public life. Her spirituality was also noticeable, believing in prayers as an adherent of the Islamic faith.
Alhaja Elemesho-Okesanjo is such an uncommon woman of principle. She took a principled stand that the Presidency should be returned to the South in favour of former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; and she extended similar energy to the reelection bid of Governor Sanwo-Olu in Lagos State where she had the courage to stand by her convictions, not minding whose ox was gored.
Alhaja Elemesho did not choose to serve her own interests, rather, the interests of the nation and the people, she deserves to be thanked for her selfless leadership as a positive influencer by every standard.
The Chief Executive Officer of Lagos high end boutique, MONTAI, located on Toyin Street who caters to high calibre customers possesses all the leadership qualities, expertise, work ethics, technocrat, etc; without sounding immodest deserves to be part of the renewed, productive, proactive and fresh administration of Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu) in Lagos State. Mr Governor needs such an energetic, resilient, visionary and forthright figure like Alhaja Tai Elemesho-Okesanjo to make his new cabinet record as many milestones as possible in the interest of Lagosians who are desirous of more mega city status that befits Lagos.
Empirical evidences revealed that Alhaja Tai was the first notable person to start the campaign of Sanwo-Olu in Lagos since April 2022, being someone who believes in teamwork, she carefully selected committed, loyal and patriotic coordinators who were drawn from 49 Wards of Local Community Development Areas (LCDA) in Lagos out of the existing 57 and they made a positive difference.
She consistently engaged her network of members and coordinators who she adorned with Sanwo-Olu Ambassadors insignia using a direct campaign strategy of ”house to house” approach, both day and night, she defied inclement weather, harassment and intimidation. She incredibly proved her mettle and it paid off real good.
Alhaja consistently proved to be a loyal and diligent vessel who stood ready to contribute to the historic mission upon which all Progressive elements had embarked. She served then presidential and Governorship candidates, Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu (now President-elect and Governor-elect) with dedication and singular purpose. She paid attention to the minutest details. She kept the paper flow and communication line going. She played a strong and important role during those critical moments. She became a very diligent and dependable asset who till present time continues to be a resourceful administrator with indelible feats. Her commitment, affection and loyalty are obvious and admirable.
Thankfully Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu has penchant for putting round pegs in round holes to avoid non-performances as regards appointing Commissioners and personal aides, as well as assigning designation of portfolios to decisively implement his laudable and robust policies for a greater and productive Lagos. I wish Alhaja Tai Elemesho-Okesanjo best of luck as Governor Sanwo-Olu second term officially kicks off on Monday, May 29, 2023.
