The police in Lagos have docked seven sales executives who allegedly defrauded their employer of N168,298,916.92. The executives were yesterday arraigned before a Lagos magistrate court sitting in Igbosere.
The defendants are Sola Gbadebo, 36; Ngozi Ngobidi, 36; Dickson Eromosele, 41; Olayemi Aiyeola, 67; Helen Kadiri, 50; Bukola Adesanya, 40, and Glory Ogbonnaya, 39. The defendants, whose residential addresses were not given, are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and fraud.
Police prosecutor Inspector Edward Abiodun told the court that the defendants and one other person at large committed the alleged offences between January 2017 and August 28, 2019 at No. 184, Issa Williams Street, Lagos Island, and Akwa Ibom Plaza, Trade Fair Complex, Lagos-Badagry expressway. Abiodun said the defendants conspired to steal and defraud their employer, Mrs Helen Onasanya, of the money.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge against them. Magistrate O. O. Oshin granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum. Oshin said that the sureties must show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State.
The case was adjourned till November 13, 2019 for mention.
